Planning an event? We have a large social hall and commercial kitchen just for you!
Size of Social Hall and seating capacity: The social hall is 3400 sq ft (85 x 42). Seating for approximately 200 theater style, 120 to 160 banquet style. Both white and metal chairs are available.
Commercial kitchen: large double door refrigerator and freezer, large standing warmer, large flattop, large double door convection oven, 6 gas burner stovetop with bottom oven, nearly 20 feet of stainless steel workspace, three compartment pot sink, large dishwasher, double vegetable sink and more!
Social hall set up: White topped 8 foot round tables and 6 or 8 foot rectangular tables available. White folding chairs available. Three double door exits. Handicapped restrooms adjacent to the social hall. Sound absorbing panels on the social hall walls. Pass through counter from the kitchen to the social hall that can be closed. Social hall can be sectioned off in half.
Social hall and kitchen rental $500.00/day (additional charges may apply)

Nelson United Methodist Church Rental Policies:
Rental Procedure: Online rental request form must be completed. Link below. Once rental agreement has been received, a representative from the Board of Trustees will reach out to you to discuss.
Cancellations: no penalty if written notice is provided two weeks prior to the meeting date. Cancellation less than two weeks prior to the rental date will be accessed at a 25% administrative fee. No refunds if cancellation is less than one week from scheduled function. A full refund, less application cancellation fees, will be mailed to the individual or group upon cancellation.
Parking: provided in marked spaces only. No parking or driving on grass or other than marked pavement is permitted.
Social hall set up - tables and chairs are provided that groups can set up as desired. If group wants NUMC to set up tables and chairs, there is an additional $50.00 fee.
No smoking in or around rental facilities.
No lit candles.
No alcohol allowed on premises.
Clean-up:
The group is responsible for the cleanliness of the meeting facility upon the conclusion of the event; cleaning materials will be provided. A $100.00 clean up fee will be assessed if meeting space is not returned to its original state.
Chairs and tables must be straightened and returned to their original position.
No used materials or trash is to be left inside or outside the kitchen or social hall.
All used paper, plastic ware, bottles and cans must be placed in trash receptacles and removed from the premises after the event.
Leftover food must be placed in trash receptacles and removed from premises.
NUMC will provide trash bags and receptacles. There are no dumpster facilities on NUMC premises.
Rental Contract Terms and Agreement
Group assumes all risk of, and agrees that NUMC shall not be liable for any damage to property or injury to or death of any persons including, without limitation, Group or its shareholders, members, directors, officers, employees, contractors, invitees, patrons, licensees, or agents, in, on or about the NUMC premises from any cause except where such damage or injury arises out of the gross negligence of NUMC
Further, Group shall fully indemnify and hold NUMC and its respective members, directors, officers, employees, insurers, attorneys, and agents harmless from all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, losses, damages, or liability (including, without limitation, all expenses of litigation, court costs, and attorney’s fees) for any injury or death to any person, including, without limitation, any injury, disfigurement, or death, any monetary claims, including, without limitation, any claims for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, loss of consortium, or for lost wages, or any injury received or sustained by any person or property arising out of the acts or omissions, including negligence, of the Group or any of its shareholders, members, directors, officers, employees, contractors, invitees, patrons, licensees, or agents, or the performance of, or failure to perform by, the Group or any of its shareholders, members, directors, officers, employees, contractors, invitees, patrons, licensees, or agents, of any of the Group’s obligations under this Agreement even if such claim is based on a claimed negligent act or omission of any of the indemnities.
Group assumes all responsibility for repair and restoration in the event of damages caused by the group or their invitees. Group agrees to be, and is, responsible for ensuring that the meeting, including the layout of the meeting room and any equipment and/or other item used in connection with the meeting and/or the Group function, is ADA accessible and compliant. Group also agrees to comply with each and every term and provision of the Meeting Room Rental Agreement, which is incorporated into and made part of this Contract as if fully set forth herein.
Methods to Pay for Rental Space
A check can be submitted for $500.00 to Nelson United Methodist Church and mailed to 5239 Thomas Nelson Highway, Arrington, VA 22922.
Debit or credit card payment can be made by clicking on the link below. Follow the verification steps. Once you are directed to the giving page, pick the catagory for Social Hall and Kitchen Rental $515.00. You do not need to opt into covering the associated fees as credit card and processing fees have been built into the full amount of an additional $15.00. Do not submit payment until your application for rental request has been approved. Thank you!
